Self-thinking and self-showering are two of my biggest goals for John as well . . . ! Seriously, though, thank you for sharing. I wrote something very similar to John one time, and this is a constant struggle of mine as well. I'm hoping maybe it will be easier to keep the reigns a little looser with the younger one(s)? As Ryan said, though, you're an awesome mom, and you're doing an awesome job with those kids! I have been dealing with these things as well. Losing teeth (or, in Arun's case, letting her decide how long to let them hang in there by a string) showering, crossing the street without touching me :) ... I have to remind myself over and over that it is ok for them to try and fail and try and barely succeed, or not do it just right, but to be so proud that they did it themselves!!! sniff sniff.
