On Thursday two of my websites were compromised and my hosting company shut down all my websites. Having encountered multiple hacks over the last several months, I decided a clean slate was needed. I thus got a new hosting company and started 4 of my websites from scratch. The other 16 +/- sites… well, I decided to just shut them down. It was a hard decision, but one I’ve been thinking about for some time. This weekend put the nail in the coffin for them.
While I was at it, and due to necessity, I gave The Daily Burns a face-lift.
That’s the short version.

I’m sorry to see them go. I was clicking around on Extra Side for the past month or so. I guess I’ll just have to go back to the Internet Archive from now on.
Which webhost did you decide to go with?
Yeah, ESOB was a good idea I just never had time for. Wrote a bunch of initial posts and that was it… oh well.
As for hosting, I went with namecheap.com. They are who I buy my domains through, so thought I’d give their hosting a try.
I hadn’t heard of namecheap before. I’ve been a GoDaddy guy for domains since WAY before they did their infamous commercials. My brother and I use CirtexHosting for our sites. They’ve been pretty reliable.
I hope the new host works out well for you!
